Mute sign system
In the Czech Republic, the trail designation system is almost identical. The oldest traditional system is the so-called Mute Sign System, under which each refuge and towering topographical point has its own symbol assigned. Symbols with arrows are placed on signposts to show direction although not distance. In the Czech Republic skiing and biking on hiking trails is not allowed.
